Melanie brown, lcpc

I started my own practice to help people find happiness in their work, relationships, and life. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, I have experience working with adults of all ages in individual and group therapy settings, including a college campus and an intensive outpatient hospital setting. In addition, I worked approximately 5 years in a group practice working with couples, families, and individuals before launching my private practice. My clinical interests focus on identity development and self-esteem, relationship issues and interpersonal conflict, anxiety, life transitions, and mood management. I enjoy helping clients to create positive changes, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, discover solutions, and rewrite their life stories in an empowering narrative. My approach includes a collaborative and authentic relationship with the client in which I will provide support and honest feedback.

Utilizing mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, I strive to empower the client with positive coping skills and increased self-awareness. An animal lover, I have a deep appreciation of the human and animal connection. I have encountered the healing power of this connection through canine therapy and through an internship I completed in equine facilitated psychotherapy.
